The Story Behind the Data
I'm a retail investor in the Akre Focus Fund (Ticker: AKRE). Like many of you, I am a firm believer in the "three-legged stool" philosophy—focusing on extraordinary businesses, talented management, and disciplined reinvestment.
Akre Capital Management is excellent about transparency; they provide a daily holdings report on their website. However, I quickly ran into a challenge: the data is a snapshot, not a story. To see how the portfolio was actually evolving—which positions were being trimmed, which were being built, and how the cash pile was moving—I found myself manually downloading CSVs every single day to run my own analysis.
I realized that if I was doing this work, other retail investors likely wanted these insights too, but might not have the time or technical setup to do it. I built AKREtrack to automate that process and share that knowledge with the community.
What We Do
AKREtrack monitors the daily changes in the Akre Focus Fund portfolio so you don't have to. We take those daily snapshots and turn them into actionable insights:
- Daily Trade Logs: See exactly what was bought or sold in the last 24 hours.
- Historical Trends: Track how position weightings change over weeks and months.
- Allocation Deep Dives: Understand how the fund is balanced across sectors and cash reserves.
Questions or Feedback?
Because AKREtrack is a community-driven project, your feedback is what helps it grow. Whether you've spotted a data discrepancy, have a feature request, or just want to discuss the latest portfolio moves, I'd love to hear from you.
I post daily updates there as well — it's the best place to stay in the loop and ask questions in real-time.
